Hartley’s Spickler posts 7-RBI night to lift his team to a 3rd place finish over Yeagertown

In the battle for third place Friday in the MIfflin County Super Series Hartley’s would take on Yeagertown for the bronze.

Hartley’s Bentley Spickler hustled out two inside-the-Park homer runs. The first was a 3-run round tripper while the second was a grand slam, giving him seven RBIs on the afternoon.

In the end, Hartley’s managed to pick up the victory 12-7 at Frank Pupo Memorial Field at Rec Park.

Others picking up hits for Hartley’s were Aiden Moore and Kale Beaver.

Cohen Leister led the offense for Yeagertown with a hit as well as teammates Keagan Clouser and Colton Leister.

Cohen Leister also picked up two RBIs on the night.

In the top of the first, Hartley’s maxed the 4-run limit.

With one out, Alden Mosser walked and later scored when he stole home, making it 1-0.

Gabriel Kahley and RJ Link both followed with walks, setting the stage for Spickler.

Spickler roped one down the first base line and managed to speed around the bases for the inside-the-Park 3-run homer.

Yeagertown bounced back in the bottom of the inning, cutting the Hartley’s lead to 4-3.

Colton Leister opened the bottom of the inning with a single up the middle. He would proceed and steal second, third and then home, making it a 3-run game.

Landon Cunningham was hit by a pitch.

Cohen Leister followed with a walk, putting runners on first and third.

With two out, Robert Whistler kept the inning going as he walked to load the bases.

Keagan Clouser singled in Cunningham.

Caleb Kerstetter walked to plate Cohen Leister, cutting it to just a 1-run deficit going into the second.

Patience was a virtue for Hartley’s in the second.

Dyson King, Carson Goss, Joshua Freed loaded the bases as they all walked.

Aiden Moore also walked, giving him an RBI.

A bases loaded double by Kale Beaver, quickly gave his team the 4-run limit as he picked up 3RBIs on the double.

But Yeagertown’s offense bounced right back, collecting four runs of their own in the bottom of the inning.

Colton Leister led off with a walk.

Cunningham was hit for the second time.

Corbin Leister roped a 2-run single. Sunderland reached on an fielder’s choice, scoring Leister. He later scored by stealing home.

Spickler has his time to shine once again in the third.

After teammates Mosser, Kahley and Link walked, Spickler hit one to left centerfield that her was once again able to beat out at home, putting his team up to stay at 12-7.

Defensively, Hartley’s was able to keep Yeagertown off the board, giving them the third place nod in this year’s MIfflin County Minor Super Series runner up game.
