Hoppel’s 3-run Homer sparks MC in win over Erie McDowell

Gianna Hoppel lit the match under the MIfflin County offense, finishing with a 4-RBI evening as the Lady Huskies softball team take their talents on the road and downs Erie McDowell Tuesday. Hoppel’s 3-run round tripper sparked the offense and kept the season marching onto the the next stage of their post season run.

Alyssa Souders led the hit category, plastering three while teammate Leesha Shilling had two.

Hoppel had four RBIs while D6 championship MVP Josie Kibe had three in the win.

Devanie Condrack went the distance on the mound, allowing only two runs while sending down 11 Erie batters by strike out.

The contest was close going into the fourth with the Huskies leading 3-1. But the bats came alive in a big way scoring four runs in the inning, extending the lead to six and putting the game on cruise control.
