Huskies deliver Homecoming treat

LEWISTOWN – Homecoming never felt this good!!
After a rough week off the field, the Mifflin County football team, playing for interim coach Scot Sechler turned things around quickly offensively on Homecoming defeating West Perry 61-21 in front of a homecoming crowd all behind their team.
From the first kick off until the final buzzer, the feisty and united Huskies gave their fans something to go home with and treasure.
Kyler Snook led off the game with a spark that started the process from the first play of the game.
Snook went and scored on a 76-yard kickoff return.
Kicker Davis Wagner PAT was successful with 11:49 still on the clock.
Mifflin County struck again late in the opening period when Gage Scheaffer battled his way to a 4-yard TD run Kick with 2:12 left.
In the second West Perry came back to tie the game with 2:18 left in the half.
However, Mifflin County would have the last day in the second quarter as Kross Todaro put his team up at the intermission on a 43-yard touchdown run, making it 21-14.
The second half belonged to the determined and hungry Husky team Quarterback Jacob Krepps led off the second half hitting teammate Noah Wright for a 47-yard hook up. with the successful PAT, “the Purple and Black attack” led 28-14.
Minutes later Krepps called his own number ending a drive with a 1-yard run, keeping the scoring coming.
After another strong defensive series, Mifflin County got the ball back in the period and called Lincoln Miller name. Miller did not disappoint scampering on a 17-yard run, ending the period with the big lead.
West Perry scored to open the final stanza to cut into the lead.
But the Huskies’ offense continued to roll
Gabe Winkles got his name on the scorebook rambling on a 7-yard TD run.
After forcing another turnover on defense, Mifflin County went right back at it.
Gage Scheaffer and teammate Shane Dearment finished the scoring with TD runs of 6-yards and 5 yards, respectively.
Mifflin County were led on the ground by Tadaro who rushed for 119 yards and Schaeffer with 104.
As a team the Huskies went for 319.
When the game clock struck zero, Mifflin County totaled 61 points and picked up its win in grand fashion.
