Huskies score early; falls late to Red Land

The Mifflin County baseball team fell Tuesday to Red Land in a home contest, 8-3.

Though the Huskies pounded out seven hits they could only muster three runs while Red Land had eight hits en the victory.

Brian Yetter took the loss for Mifflin County.

Mifflin County got a 2-for-3 effort by Colby Bodtorf.

The Huskies started out fast, putting three runs on the board in the first.

Max Oburn led off the game with a single. He moved to second on a Bodtorf sacrifice.

Yetter roped an RBI double, scoring Oburn.

Tyreen Smalley singled in Yetter to up the Huskies’ lead at 2-0.

Smalley stole second and later scored on an Evan Smith single, ending the inning with a 3-0 advantage.

However, Red Land chipped at the Mifflin County lead in the second and third, posting a 1-run and a 2-run inning, respectively.

Red Land kept the momentum going as it posted three in the fourth and two in the sixth.

They were able to hold the Huskies scoreless the rest of the way to pick up the victory.
