LEWISTOWN – HWF certainly lived up to the name of their show A$$ Kicking Saturday Night in the Colosseum this past Saturday.
The show started off with HWF Promoter Trista Silks along with the President of Wrestling Phil Stamper came out to show off the brand new HWF Tag Team championship belts which were given to the current champions, Neverfall.
Both Rayne and Rodin received their new belts and addressed the crowd and talked about how much they have enjoyed being the tag champs and were feeling like Lewistown was their hometown. Which certainly did not sit well with the Sons of Mifflin County who burst through the curtain and confronted Neverfall and reminded them that this was their home and that they were going to take the belts and bring them home.
It certainly was one of the toughest challenges that Neverfall had face in their historic run for perfection, and the fans were going crazy throughout the match. It got so intense that Pit Chick Dani Lair got involved and was slammed through the table by Rodin before Neverfall defeated the SOMC to remain unbeaten and are still the HWF Tag Team champions.
However things between these two teams are fall from over.
Speaking of Pit Chick, she was in a match early on in the show against Taylor Brooks which was boiled over from the previous show where the two got into it after Brooks attacked Dani’s boyfriend RD Mosh.
And they went right at it from the opening bell with both trading massive shots with one another. Brooks managed to get the advantage on Lair before Lair blasted Brooks in the face with the Pit Kick and scored the pin for the win.
There were a pair of debuts at the event as well with the first being Stan Stylez who went one on one with Mr. Amazing of the Amazing Trio. Long story short, Stylez most certainly lived up to his name of the Dairy Daddy as he quite literally “creamed” his opponent Mr. Amazing and the rest of the Amazing Trio for that matter and got the win for his debut match with the company.
The other debuting wrestler for the HWF was Sugar Dan Stofko who took on long time fan favorite for the HWF, Sledge Gibson. Gibson struggled a bit as he was dealing with a shoulder problem and it looked like he wasn’t going to overcome it. But Gibson managed to dig down deep and powered through it and dropped Stofko with the Bunny Slope to get the win and spoiled his debut.
Robbie Paige defeated Lestat in singles action and also Steve Steel made his return match at the show as he went against Big Philly while being accompanied by John Washington. Despite the issues between both Washington and Steel, it wasn’t enough to stop Steel from defeating Big Philly.
That was not the last time we saw of Washington during the program as demanded by Washington himself, he had a championship celebration after becoming the new HWF Xtreme champion. And what a celebration it was as there was cake, balloons and more importantly a promise from Washington himself. And that promise was that he plans on being champion for a long time.
After the celebration, Sicend along with fellow Riot City member Ron Holiday who earlier competed in tag team action and were defeated by the Connell Bros which was definitely the biggest win in their young careers. Came out and admitted that things have gotten a little tough for him since he has returned to HWF and reminded everybody that when he first came here he defeated Edward James. The next thing you know James comes out and tells Sicend that he is not the same wrestler he was when they first wrestled and challenged him to a match. The leader of Riot City accepted his offer, sort of. Sicend told if James wanted him, he’d have to go through his students, the first being Deacon Hayes.
Both James and Hayes were giving it their all throughout the match and both Mr. Amazing and Taylor Brooks came out to support their teammate. Brooks then onto the apron and distracted the official while Mr. Amazing snuck into the ring and tried to hit James with what appeared to be brass knuckles only for James to duck and hit Hayes. James took over from there and dropped Hayes with a Codebreaker for the win.
Then in the main event of the evening, the blood feud of the century continued on the last show as the Titan James Ford looked to beat the respect into the Postman Vam Williams. Things got out of hand real quick as both men were not content with just fighting in the ring oh no, they fought out the ring as well and even outside the colosseum even. It got to intense that the referee had to call the match off and end it in a no contest with Ford remaining as champion.
There will be more to come from the HWF in the near future with the next show being on August 17 as HWF presents Summerfest.
