Indians continue to sizzle; drops Halifax
The Juniata boys basketball continues its winning ways.
Thursday, the Indians improved its overall record to 5-1 as they defeated Halifax 61-34 in Tri-Valley League action.
Leading the offense for Juniata was Emmanuel O’Donnell, who put in a game-high 23 points.
Teammate Jace White chipped in with 15 while GG Ortiz rounded out the leading scorers with a 14-point effort.
Halifax was led by Zane Cassell who had 13.
Juniata came out strong, outscoring the Wildcats 12-6.
Halifax rallied back in the second, outscoring the Indians 17-15.
But Juniata went into the intermission, leading 27-23.
Coming out of the break, the Indians offense came out sizzling by pouring in 23 points in the period while its defense clamped down on Halifax, making it a 23-7 quarter.
Juniata continued to build on its lead in the final stanza, outscoring its opponent 11-4 en route to the victory.
