Indians’ wrestling team sweeps Southern Huntingdon, Everett
MIFFLINTOWN – Thursday night, the Juniata wrestling team swept both Southern Huntingdon and Everett at home.
In their match against Southern Huntingdon, the Indians muscled out a 38-30 win over the Rockets.
After a Double Forfeit at 106,
Juniata’s 113-pounder Casey Smith opened with a forfeit.
Juniata continued things at 120, when Taylor Smith pinned Caden Scott at 3:29.
132-pounder Tye Jabs got things back on track for the Indians as he picked up a tech fall over Kyler Cromwell 18-1.
At 152, Josh Bomberger outlasted the Rockets’ Brandon Runk ,9-5.
189-pounder Joshua Pacheco gave Juniata another win via forfeit.
Juniata was tough at 215, Jonathan Kauffman pinned Brody Pyles at 2:54.
Rounding out the match at 285, Juniata’s Dominik Rowles notched a forfeit.
Juniata dominated Everett 46-15.
Starting things off at 113, Juniata’s Casey Smith picked up a major decision over Elijah Mills, 18-4.
120-pounder Taylor Smith picked up the Indians first forfeit of the night.
Cameron Sweigart picked up the easy win at 126 winning by forfeit.
At 132, there was a Double Forfeit.
Tye Jabs gave the Indians a win also with a forfeit at 138.
160-pounder, Noe Montesinos added to the Indians’ lead when he pinned Conner Deffibaugh at 4:53.
Forfeits were the constant on the night as 189-pounder Joshua Pacheco won by forfeit.
At 215, Dominik Rowles defeated Everett’s Darrin Beegle via pin fall at 3:52.
In heavyweight action, Juniata’s Jonathan Kauffman pinned Quinton Beegle at 2:24.
Both teams rounded out the contest at 106 on a Double Forfeit.
