Jackson: One on One with Max Jennings

HS: How long have you played the current sports you are in?
MJ:I have been snowboarding for 7 years and I have played baseball since I was 8. I am also playing soccer this year for my school.
HS: What is one piece of advice you would give to young athletes?
MJ: Do not quit, there will be challenges and issues you have to face but playing sports is rewarding in so many ways.
HS:Who is someone you look up to?
MJ: For athletics, my mom! She has all these records and other things I strive to beat.
HS: What are your goals for the upcoming season?
MJ: Be the best player I can be and to stay healthy throughout the season.
HS: What do you enjoy doing outside of sports?
MJ: I love fishing and hanging out with my friends.
HS: What are your plans after high school?
MJ: Go to college for business and try to carry on my sports into college.
HS: Is there a coach or teammate who has gone above and beyond and pushed you when you wanted to give up?
MJ: My entire team has helped me recently with injuries and other issues I had on the field, I wouldn’t be anywhere without the Wolfpack.
HS: What is one of your weaknesses as an athlete? What is one of your strengths as an athlete?
MJ: My weakness is… I haven’t landed that double backflip on the snowboard yet. My strengths are definitely speed, fielding, and spinning on the board.
HS: Do you ever feel overwhelmed balancing academics and sports? What things do you do to balance the two?
MJ: I go to a school where I have to prioritize academics or else I fall behind and not be able to play. I just remember that I am a student athlete. Student comes first, athlete follows.
HS: How do you prepare yourself for a game?
MJ: I make sure I’m stretched out with a good meal in me. I will also take it easy working out so I am not sore for the game.
