Juniata boys soccer opens with TVL road win over St. Joe’s

BOALSBURG – Juniata came ready for action as it traveled to St. Joseph’s Academy Monday winning 7-0 in boys soccer action.

Both playing their season opener, the Indians put continual pressure on the Wolves.

In the first half, Juniata scored its first goal by Arthur Hazard which was assisted by Marcio Cardenas at the 11:00 mark.

Six minutes later, the Indians found the back of the goal once again.

At 17:00, Juniata scored on an unassisted goal by Anthony Maradiaga.

Both teams remain scoreless until the 37:00 – minute mark.

Juniata, scored its third goal by Jackson Shellenberger thanks to an assist by Ricky Guante.

In the Second Half, the Indians scored early.

At the 7:00 – mark Hazard scored once again as he was assisted by Mason Beward.

Juniata scored again at the 10-minute mark thanks to a goal by Anthony Maradiaga The assist was from Drew Bennett.

At 30:00 – Marcio Cardenas scored on an assist by Chase Hartland

Rounding out the scoring for the feisty Indians was a goal scored by Cooper Adamire. Picking up the assist was Jackson Shellenberger.

In the Shots on Goal department,

Juniata outshot St. Joe’s 24 – 3.

They also led in corner kicks by a 3-1 margin.

Juniata finished with four saves while St. Joe’s had 13.
