FOOTBALL
Offensive struggles continued for the Eagles as they fell to the McDaniel Green Terror by the final score of 27-9.
Juniata had used three different quarterbacks in the game with starter Aaron Goldberg completing 10 out of 24 passes with two interceptions.
Former Mifflin County Husky Noah Wright helped score the only touchdown of the game for the Eagles, throwing a 15 yard TD pass over to Isaiah Collison.
Wright also had a total of six punts averaging nearly 40 yards a punt with the longest punt being 52 yards and had a punt inside the 20 yard line.
Juniata College drops to (0-2) and looks to get into the win column on Saturday as they host John Hopkins.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
Regulation was not enough to determine a winner, one overtime was not enough to determine a winner either. It finally took a second overtime before Juniata College was able to come out victorious over the Cabrini Cavaliers 1-0.
Emma Moreland found Fiona McDonald who used her head to knock in the game winner during the second OT. Former Bellefonte and current Juniata goalkeeper Cati Besch only faced one shot on goal which she saved.
Juniata are now (2-2-1) and will look to make it two in a row as the Eagles will travel to face the King’s Monarchs on Wednesday.
MEN’S SOCCER
The Eagles scored two goals in the second half to defeat the King’s Monarchs by the final score of 2-0.
Blake Cassel scored the first goal for Juniata College a little over five minutes into the second half of the game. Malvin Madzimbamuto finished the game off with a couple minutes remaining in the game.
Juniata College moves up to (2-1) and will return home to play on Saturday to face the Chatham Cougars.
WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL
Juniata College made short work of the Arcadia Knights with a 3-0 victory in their first of two matches.
The Eagles had a hitting percentage of .396 while the Knights struggled with a percentage of .054.
Mackenzie Coley led the Eagles with nine kills for the match while Kiona Rousset-Hernandez collected 21 of the team’s 53 total digs.
Then in their second match of the evening, Juniata College defeated the Franklin and Marshall Diplomats 3-0.
Aly Reardon led the Eagles in kills with 10 and then Rousset-Hernandez came up big again with 20 digs for the match.
Rousset-Hernandez was named MVP and along with Coley and Olivia Foley were named to the Asics All-Tournament team. Congrats to all three players.
Juniata College is now (5-1) and will travel to compete in the Nazareth Invitational on Friday.
FIELD HOCKEY
The Eagles struggled to get shot opportunities in their 5-1 loss to the undefeated Haverford Fords.
The lone Juniata goal came in the third period in the form of Sierra Rossman. Former Midd-West Mustang and Juniata keeper Nicole Piccioni collected 12 saves in the game.
Juniata College falls to (1-3) and will look to rebound on Wednesday as the Eagles welcome the Messiah Falcons.
