“With conditions less than ideal due to the COVID-19 restrictions, the boys ran well in the class AA race” Coach Miller said.  Senior James Hazard led the Indians in 27th place with a time of 18:30.  Micah Fausey followed him in 58th place with a time of 19:40.  Other Indian runners to finish were Tim Kelly in 66st – 20:04, Brody Powell in 80th – 20:47, Yadiel Nieves-Aguirre in 105th – 22:29, and Noah Sheaffer in 115th – 26:02.  Miller was impressed with Tim Kelly’s performance.  “He improved his time from last year on this course by 3:26“.

On the girls side Kierstyn Fogle led the Indians in 34th place with a time of 23:49.  Emily Houtz finished next for the Indians in 52nd place with a time of 25:19.  Other Indian runners to finish were Elizabeth Gaisior in 70th – 28:49, Katie Hart in 73rd – 29:41, Rachel Fisher in 76st – 31:24, and Peyton Sheaffer in 80th – 33:40.  The girls ran well considering 4 of them never ran cross country before and could not view the state cross country course prior to running it due to all of the COVID-19 restrictions at the invite.  Coach Miller said “It had to be hard for Kierstyn, Elizabeth, Rachel, and Peyton to pace themselves over the 5K course without knowing what terrain was ahead, but we were all just happy to be able to compete”.  Coach Miller was impressed with how Katie Hart improved nearly 4:00 from the same race last year.  The boy’s and girl’s teams will travel to Bald Eagle next Thursday, October 1.
