Juniata cruises to road victory over Blackhawks

This one was over early!

After a strong win the week before an against Camp Hill, the Juniata football team came into their contest with Susquenita and made a statement.

The statement came in the 48-0 victory over the Blackhawks in a game that was over by the intermission.

The Indians quarterback Jason Condo was 5-for-9 on the night for 118 yards passing and two touchdowns to go with it.

The Indians had 14 players run the ball on the evening as they grinded out 246 yards rushing. Leading the ground game was sophomore Ty Rowles who ran for 30 yards and two TDs. Teammate Cam Bargo, Jasper Shepps and Isaac Ramirez all added a running touchdown in the victory.

Shepps led the receivers as he caught the ball five times for 118 yards and two more touchdowns. Combined with the running TD Shepps finished with three. He also finished the night with 193 all purpose yards.

Defensively, the Indians got to the quarterback three times for sacks.

Juniata opened the first quarter scorching hot posting 20 points.

From there, “Big Red” added 28 in the second stanza, making it a 48-0 halftime lead.

That would be all they needed as they never looked back and was able to give some of the non-starters some quality playing time.
