Juniata girls defense stops Millersburg, wins 46-22

Defense took center stage for the Juniata girls basketball Tuesday as the Lady Indians allowed only 22 points en route to their 46-22 victory over Millersburg in a Tri-Valley League battle.

Malin Kint and teammate Olivia Clark led the Indians in scoring with eight points each.

Cora Musser and Rowe Shepps added seven each in the win.

Juniata blanked Millersburg 11-0 to lead off the contest. Leading the first quarter scoring Rush with six.

Things continue to go the Lady Indians’ way as they outscored Millersburg once again this time 10-9.

When the two teams went into the half, Juniata held a 21-9 advantage.

Like the first two quarters, the defense continued clamp down its defense, this time holding Millersburg to just four points while its offense scored eight.

In the final stanza, the Lady Indians sizzled offensively, posting 17 points en route to the 24-point victory.
