Juniata XC boys capture third consecutive TVAA title

The Juniata boys cross country team won the TVAA Conference title for the third year in a row, while the girls team took 2nd

The Juniata Cross Country team competed in the TVAA Conference meet on Wednesday, October 9 at Susquenita.  Leading the ways for the boys and winning the Tri-Valley title was Garrett Baublitz with a time of 18:09just 7 seconds off of the course record.  Clay Yeager was second for the Indians, placing 5th overall with a time of 20:18.  James Hazard was 7th with a time of 20:26.  Other Indians that competed were:

Micah Fausey – 11th – 21:09

Brody Powell – 14th – 21:22

Isaak Fausey – 15th – 21:28

Will Tyson – 17th – 22:11

Tim Kelly – 27th – 23:39

Noah Sheaffer – 33rd – 24:57

Kaleb Louder – 47th – 31:01

Coach Miller said “The boys were ready to run on this very difficult and challenging course today.  Everyone on both the boys and girls teams ran personal best times for this course.”

Winning for the girls was Emily Houtz with a time of 24:02.  Emily was followed by 2nd place Sydney Houtz with a time of 25:16.  Rounding out the girls team were:

Julia Burns – 22nd – 33:43

Katie Hart – 23rd – 34:05

Joceline Telfer – 24th – 39:44

“Emily ran a tuff race up front taking the Tri-Valley title for the second year in a row.” Coach Miller said.

The Indians will compete at Mifflin County on Thursday, October 17.
