Juniata XC runners shine against Newport and Susquenita

Juniata boy’s cross country team took victories over Newport (15 to 50) and Susquenita (20 to 37) at Susquenita High School on Tuesday, September 17. Other schools competing were Upper Dauphin, Halifax, Greenwood, and Millersburg, but they didn’t have enough runners to score.  Taking first in the boy’s race was Garrett Baublitz with a time of 18:33.  Garrett was followed by:
Clay Yeager – 4th – 21:26
James Hazard – 5th – 21:39
Isaak Fausey – 7th – 22:07
Brody Powell – 11th – 22:10
Micah Fausey – 14th – 23:14
Will Tyson – 15th – 23:49
Tim Kelly – 20th – 25:13
Noah Sheaffer – 26st – 26:19
Kaleb Louder – 41st – 35:00
There were a total of 41 runners who competed in the boys race.
On the girls side, Juniata lost to Susquenita (30 to 25).  Other schools competing were Upper Dauphin, Greenwood, and Newport, but didn’t have enough runners to score.  Juniata’s Emily Houtz won the girls race with a time of 25:57.  She was followed close behind by her sister Sydney Houtz for second place with a time of 26:05.  Finishing out the Indian’s team were:
Julia Burns – 19th – 36:49
Katie Hart – 20th – 37:51
Joceline Telfer – 22nd – 45:50
There were a total of 22 runners who competed in the girls race.
