Juniata’s eight run fourth inning is too much for EJ to make comeback

In its annual rivalry, the Juniata Indians and East Juniata baseball renewed their rivalry, this time on the Indians’ turf.

However, it would be the Indians’ bats that would come out the victor in this contest, winning 14-5.

Nathan Berry picked up the win for Juniata as he went the distance allowing four hits and striking out five.

Taking the loss was Nathaniel Losch.

Devon Nealman handled the hot bat for the Indians, going 3-for-4 with 3RBIs and two runs.

Jamie Bailer, CJ Bonson and Berry all collected two hits on the afternoon.

The Tigers took the lead in the top of the first, plating four runs in their opening at bats.

In the bottom of the inning, the Indians battled to cut the Tigers’ lead in half, scoring two.

East Juniata again our another run on the scoreboard, upping it to 5-1.

But one inning would change the total complexion of the game as Juniata broke the game wide open in the fourth as it pounded out eight runs in the inning, taking the lead at 10-5.

Three more runs in the fifth and one more in the sixth, put the game on ice as East Juniata wasn’t able to pick up another run.
