Kish tops young Lewistown squad in FoxPro Bowl

LEWISTOWN – In the battle for the FoxPro Bowl title, the Lewistown Panthers and Kish Indians renewed aquantiences.

Kish running back Jaxson Strohecker rushed for 216 yards leading the Indians to a 48-12 win over Lewistown.

Urijah Lynch led the Panthers running game with a 178-yard effort.

On Kish’s first possession, the offense opened up by marching down the field going on an eight-play drive.

Strohecker got the game off and running scoring on a 12-yard run.  With the successful PAT, the Indians upped the score to 7-0.

Lewistown wasn’t so successful on its first two possessions as they went four and out on its first two times they touched the ball.

With the ball to start the second quarter, the Indians went right back to work and it took only two plays for Strohecker to capture touchdown number two, taking the ball and scoring on a 34-yard scamper and a 14-0 advantage.

Defensively, Lewistown and Kish took over the rest of the first half, giving Kish a 14-0 lead.

Kish came out of the intermission with an explosion as Ethan Zook got the call as he scored on a 16-yard run. With the PAT, Kish was in the drivers seat at 21-0.

Lewistown got a 60-yard kick off return.

However, that would be short lived as Kish would get the ball back one play later.

It took the Indians just four plays to cash in their fourth touchdown as Strohecker once again got the nod, scoring from seven yards out, upping it to 28-0.

The Panthers got their points late in the third quarter when Lynch scores from 80-yards out, cutting it to 28-6 with 43 ticks left in the third.

Landen Rhodes added another touchdown seconds into the fourth, making it 35-6.

Lewistown added a touchdown while the Indians added two more en route to the 48-12.
