Lady Eagles fall Saturday to a tough Clearfield team

Saturday, the Bald Eagle Area girls soccer team hosted a tough Clearfield team.

The Bison were too much for the Lady Eagles on this day, falling 3-0.

Clearfield led in corners over Bald Eagle 8-1.

Clearfield also led in shots on goal 19-3.

Bald Eagle goalie Angie Grieb finished with 17 saves while Clearfield goalie Caleigh Walker finished with three.

Clearfield’s Elle Smith hat trick, her 2nd one was on a penalty kick.

“We played well in the first half and got 2 really great opportunities that we didn’t cash in on. With a team as good as Clearfield you have to make good use of your chances,” said Bald Eagle coach Jared Moore. “The defense was good today. Angie was amazing. She made so many great saves today.”

With the loss BEA record now stands at 9-4 overall and 6-4 in Mountain League action.

Next Game for the Lady Eagles is Tuesday vs Penns Valley.

In JV action, Clearfield tops BEA 2-0.

Bald Eagle JV Record stands at 1-4-3.
