Lady Eagles get back to winning ways
The Bald Eagle Area girls soccer team got back to their winning ways, dropping Clearfield 2-0.
Bald Eagle led in the shots on goal department by a 9-6 margin.
BEA goalie Rachel Veneziano finished with nine saves while Clearfield had four.
Clearfield helped the Eagles on an Own Goal in the 63rd minute.
BEA’s Emily Shiels picked up a goal thanks to an assist by Falen McHenry at the 64th minute.
“The girls played really well tonight and controlled the tempo. I was really impressed with the hustle and the heart. Emily’s goal really shows the heart of our team,” said Eagle Coach Jared Moore. “Falen played a great through ball and Em stuck with it and found a way to get it through a rushing keeper and a defender. This team is resilient and determined and it showed tonight from the lights out defense to the hard working offense. What a great win!”
Record BEA: 4-6-2 overall, 3-5-2 Mountain league
