Lady Eagles remains undefeated after win over Somerset
After defeating Bishop Carroll 9-2 early in the week, the Bald Eagle Area girls soccer team continued to score at will Thursday, blanking Richland 5-0.
Leading the way on the night for the Eagles was Sybil Thompson who finished with a hat trick in the win.
“Richland came out strong and matched us really well. It was back and forth for about the first 20 minutes, but the defense was fantastic tonight led by Sydney Thompson, Alexa Thomas, Maddie Donley, Lily Spicer and Maddy Lykens. Makayla made the saves when we needed her to in the first half,” said Bald Eagle coach Jared Moore. “Sybil was everywhere again. It’s hard to match her work rate. She is really seeing the ball well and making the runs that give her opportunities to hit shots. Another hat trick tonight topped off a great win for us. Adrienne’s vision in the second half was outstanding. She was driving deep on Richland’s defense and feeding balls all over the field. The girls have got some good momentum going right now and are playing great soccer.”
Bald Eagle led in shots on goal by an 18-3 margin.
In Corner opportunities, the Lady Eagles led by a 9-3 tally.
BEA goalie Makayla Spicer collected three saves.
In the first, Thompson got the scoring started thanks to a pass by Adrienne Hacker at 19:59.
Thompson was back at it at 24:19 assisted by Addisyn Burns, making it a 2-0 advantage for BEA.
Thompson completed the hat trick minutes later on an unassisted goal at 27:14.
The Lady Eagles Makenzie Bickle extended the lead to 4-0 on an unassisted goal at 53:24.
Rounding out the Bald Eagle goals was Abby Hacker on an assist by Hacker at 79:50, giving the Eagles the victory.
