Lady Huskies battle but falls to Danville
The Mifflin County girls basketball team battled throughout their contest with Danville.
However, the Lady Huskies fell a bit short, falling by nine points in a 53-44 contest Monday evening at Mifflin County high school.
Leading the Huskies’ offense was Briana Bodtorf with a 14-point effort while teammate Marissa Gingrich tallied 13 in the loss.
Danville’s Linae Williams and Corina Petris both finished with a game-high 16 points.
Teammate Emily Heath rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10.
The two teams went at it right away in the first as Danville outscored Mifflin County 17-14.
The Lady Huskies rallied back to take the lead at halftime, outscoring Danville 18-8.
Going into the third, Mifflin County led 32-25.
But Danville came blazing back in the second half, outscoring Mifflin County 24-12 to come out with the win.
