LEWISTOWN – The Mifflin County lady Huskies 0-2 volleyball team welcomed in the 2-0 Palmyra Cougars for a conference matchup.
Mifflin County despite falling in three straight sets to the unbeaten Cougars had their highs and lows with some positives throughout the lineup. Mifflin County was outmatched by talent on the other side. Jules kauntz had a big night as she was a force to be reckoned with.
“We had our highs and lows. Volleyball is a game of highs and lows. We’re up and our energy is up and we’re scoring points,” said Mifflin County head coach Danielle Napikoski. When things start to go bad our energy drops, our communication starts to drop and I think our players saw that today. I’m hoping they can take that from today’s game moving forward into our next game and work really hard to keep that energy level up too.”
Mifflin County got production from veteran leader Emily Porch. Despite the loss, the Lady Huskies battled and made it close at times in the three sets in the second set both teams saw a battle for points in a match where the lady Cougars led 18-15. Palmyra ended up earning a point Maryn Russell would be credited with such .
It was all Palmyra early in the third set that would continue putting them in the drivers seat to take three straight from Mifflin County. That would hold to be true on a defensive error by Mifflin County.
Mifflin County will be back home on Monday against Redland. The Huskies are hoping to pick up their first win of the season with a team that has talent but came up on the wrong end in three straight sets.
