Lady Huskies fall to talented Harrisburg team, 58-51

The MIfflin County girls basketball team has shown they won’t back down to any opponent.

Tuesday evening, the road took the Lady Huskies down to Harrisburg to take on the Cougars.

The game was a close on but in the end, Harrisburg would survive in a 58-51 victory.

Good news for the Huskies was that the team finished with three double-digit scorers.

Leading the way for MIfflin County was Kate Knable with 14 points.

Teammates Brianna Bodtorf and Marisa Gingrich finished with a 13-point and 10-point effort, respectively.

Harrisburg had a 23-point effort by Destiney Stewart and a 13-point performance by Ah Nae Robinson.

Harrisburg took the lead early posting a 13-9 first quarter performance.

The Cougars extended its lead after the second period as the Huskies were outscored 17-12.

Going into the intermission, Harrisburg led 30-21.

Coming out of the half, the MIfflin County offense was able to outscore Harrisburg while its defense kept the Cougars to only eight in the period. MC posted 12.

Going into the final stanza, MIfflin County trailed 38-33.

But Harrisburg would round out the game posting a 20-18 effort en route to the victory.
