Lady Huskies get back to winning ways; tops Falcons

Back on track.

After having their recent winning streak stopped earlier this week, the MIfflin County girls basketball team got back to its winning ways Friday.

The Lady Huskies defeated Lower Dauphin 44-32.

Marissa Gingrich lit it up for MIfflin County scoring a game-high 22 points while teammate Bri Bodtorf complimented with her effort with 11.

In a fairly even first half, MIfflin County was able to edge the Falcons 10-7.

Lower Dauphin got the better of the Huskies in the second, edging them by a 12-11 margin.

When the two teams went into the intermission MIfflin County led 21-19.

The third quarter picked up right where the second period left off as the Lady Huskies turned things in their favor, outscoring the Falcons 14-13.

However, the final stanza belonged to the Lady Huskies as its defense shut out Lower Dauphin while its offense posted nine in route to the victory.   

In JV action, MC topped Lower Dauphin 32-25.

The Huskies’ Amelia Leister led the way with 16.
