Lady Huskies top Waynesboro in weekend action
Super Saturday!
The Mifflin County girls soccer team notched another victory Saturday, topping Waynesboro 3-1.
Mifflin County got off to a fast start as Maddie Finkenbiner picked up a pass from Aubrey Strohecker and sent it home at the 8:30 mark of the first half.
Waynesboro battled back to tie the contest on aTrue Benshoff goal at 14:51.
As the minutes wound down in the opening stanza, Mifflin County got back on the board when Lily Yoder scored off of a Kate Bickhart pass at 35:45.
Late in the contest, Strohecker gave her team an insurance goal at 70:30, giving the victory to the Lady Huskies.
Mifflin County outshot Waynesboro 6-3. They also led in corner opportunities by a 5-3 margin.
Huskie Goalie Bailey McNitt had two saves while Waynesboro’s Kiaya Mouer finished with three.
MC is 6-2-1 in the Mid-Penn and 7-6-1 overall. The Huskies next game is at home versus Lower Dauphin on 10/18.
