Lady Indians fall to Susquenita in TVL contest

Juniata fell short Thursday night as the girls basketball team fell short against Susquenita,56-34.

Mackenzie Bennett and Mya Rush led the offensive attack for the Indians as they both finished with nine each.

Hailey Sherman has the hot hand for Susquenita as she posted a game-high 22 points while teammate Alana Boyer chipped in with 15.

The first quarter was a back and forth affair as Susquenita was able to squeeze ahead Juniata 9-7.

But Susquenita started to heat up in the second quarter as they outscored Juniata 19-7.

Going into the third, Susquenita held a 28-14 advantage.

Juniata started to get its offense going in the third, outscoring their opponent 17-13, cutting the Susquenita lead to 41-31.

But the Indians’ adversaries had the last run as they totally took over the final stanza outscoring Juniata 15-3.
