Lady Indians fall to Susquenita

Friday night, Susquenita got the better the Juniata girls’ basketball team, defeating them 64-35.

Leading the way for Susquenita in the win was Hailey Sherman with 18.

Teammates Taylor Portzline and Alana Boyer finished with 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Juniata’s scoring was led by Mackenzie Bennett’s 13-point effort.

Susquenita got the game started with a bang, outscoring the Lady Indians 19-4.

They continued to score in double digits in the second quarter as well, posting a 14-8 scoring advantage.

Going into the half, Susquenita held a 33-12 lead.

Juniata wasn’t able to cut into the lead in the third as it was again outscored, this time by an 18-13 margin.

The Indians weren’t able to shoot themselves in the ball game, falling by 29.

However, the Indians will be back in action Saturday with a chance to get back to its winning ways when they travel to Greenwood.
