Lady Indians second half comeback falls short against UDA

Mother Nature forced Thursday’s Juniata girls basketball game to be be played earlier in the day against TVL foe Upper Dauphin.

It was a game that would go down to the final minutes before Upper Dauphin would pull out the 40-37 victory.

Offensively, Juniata got 12 points from MacKenzie Bennett while teammate Regan Lowrey finished with 11.

Upper Dauphin was led in scoring by Gracie Griffiths 10 points.

Teammates Kara Rupp and Maxie Bingaman just missed double digits as both tallied nine points each.

The Indians muscled out the lead after one, Juniata outscored UDA 13-11.

However, the Indians were held to only two points in the second, giving Upper Dauphin a 24-15 halftime advantage.

In the second half, the Indians battled back outscoring their opponents 22-16 but it wasn’t enough to complete the comeback.
