Lady Raiders hang tough with Selinsgrove but fall

They keep on battling.

The Bellefonte girls once again found themselves in a tough contest, this time against Selinsgrove.

Despite their tough effort, the Lady Raiders fell 41-35.

“It was another great defensive effort by the team. This is the fourth straight game we held our opponent to under 45 points, which I am very proud of,” said Bellefonte coach Marcus Toomer. “We still have to continue to believe our offense will improve and all our hard work on defense will pay off.”

Leading the way for Bellefonte offensively was Maddie Tice with 11.

Teammates Mallorie Smith and Sara DeHaas finished with nine points and eight points, respectively.

Bellefonte started the game on the right foot, outscoring Selinsgrove 13-10.

Leading the way was Smith with four.

Selinsgrove battled back as it outscored Bellefonte 11-8 in the second, sending the game into the intermission tied at 21.

The Lady Raiders took back the lead going into the fourth, outscoring the Seals 9-6.

However, Selinsgrove finished off the game as the outscored Bellefonte 14-5 for the win.
