Lady Raiders take Huntingdon to the brink but falls late

The learning continues.

Bellefonte’s Lady Raider basketball team is starting to see the fruits of its labor as they continue to improve and their game Thursday night against Huntingdon showed such.

Though the Red Raiders did not get the win but the took the Bearcats to the limit before falling 52-48.

Maria Cotter led the Lady Raiders in scoring with a 12-point night.

Emma Rossman rounded out the Bellefonte double digit scorers with 10.

Huntingdon’s High Scorer was Lexi Troup with 20.

The Bearcats also got a 13-point effort from Savanna Fiscus.

“This was the best game we played all season. I am so proud of the fight and effort the team put into this game,” said Bellefonte coach Marcus Toomer. “We got down early, but they fought all the way back to take the lead. Huntingdon was clutch at the free throw line and made them when they had to. I told the team at the end of the game that I was so proud of their effort and they had no reason to hang their heads.”
