Lady Rams explode for 8-run fifth en route to win over Bearcats

After plating 12 runs yesterday against Bald Eagle, the Penns Valley Rams softball team continued to hit the cover off the ball as they blanked Huntingdon 8-0 Tuesday.

Playing at home, Lady Rams hurler Avery Dinges finished with 15 strikeouts and two walks in the 2-hitter.

Madie Lemin took the loss for the Bearcats with two strikeouts and two walks.

The score was a little deceiving as the game was tied going into the bottom of the fifth but Penns Valley scored eight runs to put the game out of reach. In the process, Penns Valley pounded out 10 hits.

Leading the offense were Allie O’Brien (run scored), Dinges (double, run scored, RBI), Kendra Bumgardner (double, run scored, 2 RBIs), Kailen Winkelblech (2 doubles, run scored), Jordan Anderson (double, run scored), Ellie Coursen (double, run scored), Cheyanne Wolfe (2 singles, 2 RBIs, stolen base, run scored) and Scotty Dinges (2 singles, run scored, RBI, stolen base).
