Lady Rams’ season ends in PIAA loss to the Lancers

Congratulations on an outstanding season for the Penns Valley softball as their season came to an end Monday.

The District 6 runner ups fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 9-0 loss to Neshannock on Monday.  The Lancers scored on a walk by Hunter Newman in the first inning, a groundout by Gabby Quinn in the first inning, and a single by Jaidon Nogay in the second inning.

The Lady Rams struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Neshannock, giving up nine runs.

The Lancers got on the board in the first inning.  Newman drew a walk, scoring one run.

A single by Scotty Dinges in the first inning was a positive for the Lady Rams.

Addy Frye led things off on the rubber for Neshannock for the Lancers. The pitcher allowed seven hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out 12 and walking zero.

Avery Dinges started the game for Penns Valley. The righty allowed zero hits and three runs.  Taylor Bumgardner threw six innings in relief.

The Lady Rams racked up seven hits.  Dinges and Ellie Coursen each managed multiple hits for Penns Valley.  Coursen and Dinges each managed two hits to lead the Lady Rams.

The Lancers totaled nine hits.  Nogay, Quinn, and Jadyn Malizia all collected multiple hits for Neshannock.
