Lady Tigers rebound with win over Line Mountain

Back on track.

The East Juniata girls rebounded from a Monday loss Tuesday as they defeated Line Mountain 47-31.

With the win, the Lady Tigers improve to 3-2 on the year but most importantly, they picked up their first Tri-Valley League win of the season.

Offensively, East Juniata was led by Thea Neimond who posted a team-high 15 points while teammate Alyssa Hibbs finished with a 12-point effort.

Rounding things out on the double-digit scoring column was Clarye

Gardner with 10.

On the Line Mountain side, the team was led by Delaney Klinger. Klinger was a sharpshooter posting up for seven triples and finishing with a game-high 21-point effort.

The rest of her team combined for only nine points.

The Tigers got off to slow start as Line Mountain took a 7-6 advantage into the second. Hibbs has four of her teams six points.

In the second, the East Juniata defense dominated holding Line Mountain scoreless as it led to a 13-0 run that would put the Tigers ahead 20-6 at the intermission.

EJ added to its lead as it once again outscored Line Mountain. This time, the Tigers scored eight while holding line Mountain to just four.

Despite Klinger sizzling from 3-point range in the final stanza, the Tigers were able to hold onto the victory.

Klinger posted 15 of her team’s fourth quarter 20 points trying to make a comeback.

However, it was too little too late as East Juniata posted 20 en route to the victory.

In JV action, the Lady Tigers were just as successful, winning 34-20.
