Lake Lehman sizzles early, tops Lady Huskies

The MIfflin County girls basketball team fell in its opener against Lake Lehman Friday, falling 67-32.

Emma Weaver paced the way for the Huskies with nine while teammate Brianna Bodtorf had eight in the loss.

Lake Lehman came out strong, outscoring Mifflin County 22-3.

Leading the way for the home team were Sarah Salus with 18, Claire Dougherty tallied 14 and Chase Purdy and Hailey Kline had 12.

Weaver had the only points for MC in the first, hitting a triple.

In the second, Lake Lehman added another 19 points to their tally while the Lady Huskies scored nine.

Kate Knable and Bodtorf led the “Purple and Black”with four points apiece.

Going into the intermission, Lake Lehman held a 41-12 lead.

Weaver paced MIfflin County in the second with three while in the fourth period, Marissa Gingrich had six.
