Late Friday action: Mifflin County girls fall in second game of back-to-back games

A day after picking up a strong overtime victory over Harrisburg, the MIfflin County girls basketball team was back out on the hardwood to do battle with Central Dauphin.

Though the Lady Huskies battled throughout, it wouldn’t be enough to defeat the Rams tough defense, falling 56-30 at MIfflin County high school in a Mid-Penn battle.

Brianna Bodtorf and Marissa Gingrich led the charge offensively for MIfflin County as they both sported 13-point efforts.

Central Dauphin was led by Maddie LaFrance with a 15-point effort.

Teammates Audrey Weigl and Caroline Shiery finished in double figures, posting a 13-point and 10-point effort, respectively.

The Rams opened the contest posting a first quarter lead of 17-9.

Central Dauphin’s defense clamped down on MIfflin County, holding them to just four points while its offense posted 15.

Going into the intermission, the Rams held a 32-13 advantage.

MIfflin County came out of the intermission and went head-to-head with the Rams, just coming up a bucket short in a 15-13 third quarter.

The Rams rounded out the contest outscoring MIfflin County once again the final stanza to take the victory.
