Line Mountain boys outlast EJ boys basketball team

The East Juniata boys basketball team battled hard but fell to Line Mountain Monday, 57-50.

East Juniata’s Xavier Clement finished with a game-high 21 points while teammates Evan Reichenbauch and Brody Powell followed with nine points each.

The Eagles broke out to a fast 15-5 advantage after just one period.

Things continued to roll for Line Mountain as the outscored the Tigers in the second quarter 16-10.

Going into the intermission, Line Mountain held a 31-15 advantage.

East Juniata refused to go away as it used the third quarter to spark a comeback attempt.

The Tigers outscored the Eagles in the third, 13-12.

In the fourth, the Tigers sizzled from the field, posting 22 points in the quarter.

However, it wasn’t enough as Line Mountain bolstered 14 as the Eagles went onto the 57-50 win.
