Lions post strong 10-run inning fourth To top the Undines

Summer sizzler.

The Lions and Undines met up in a Monday evening contest in Bellefonte Little League action.

After a 4-run first, the Lions added a 10-run fourth inning to take the contest 15-3.

In the win, the Lions rolled out 14 hits led by Kaleb’s Tomasacci who went a perfect 4-for-4, scoring twice and collected two RBIs.

Posting three hits in the game was Zach Lehman. He also scored three times and added three RBIs.

Also having a strong night at the plate was Isaac Gall’s 2-for-3 evening with a 4-RBI tally and two runs scored.

Teammates Garrett Cain and Andrew Gall.

Holden Howard also picked up a hit on the night.

Picking up the win for the Lions was Braedon Fortney as he went four innings and struck out four, allowing three runs on seven hits.

The Undines were led by Wes Cooke and Parker VonGundon who each picked up two hits each.

After holding the Undines scoreless in the first, the Lions went right to work offensively.

With one out, Andrew Gall got the inning off and running as he poked a single into right.

Lehman followed with a walk, putting runners on first and second.

Tomasacci singled to load the bases.

Isaac Gall brought all three runners in with a 3RBI double.

Cain singled in Gall, ending the first scoring with a 4-0 advantage.

Fortney and company kept the Undines off the scoreboard again in the second.

However, the Undines defense tightened things up in the second, allowing just a run when Lehman singled in Andrew Gall, upping it to a 5-0 lead.

The Undines threatened in the in third on hits by Parker VonGunden and Cooke while teammate Ethan Kimmich was hit by a pitch to load the bases with two out.

But Fortney came up big to end the inning with a strike out.

However, the Undines refused to go  down without a fight, posting a 3-run inning in the fourth, cutting it to a 5-3 contest.

Kaelyn Miller led off the inning with a walk.

Levi Hamilton reaches on a Lions’ miscue.

Grove bounced into a fielder’s choice as Hamilton was forced out.

Miller blasted a 2-run triple, putting the Undines on the board.

Parker VonGunden brought in Grove, putting the Undines within striking distance.

In the bottom of the inning the Lions bats went wild, posting a 10-run inning to end the game at a 12-run victory.
