Lowrey and Gaisior have strong showing in D6 playoff opener

MIFFLINTOWN – 3-2-1, Blast off!

Juniata lead off hitter, Regan Lowrey got her team off and running in style as she blasted an opening triple and scoring on a wild pitch, sparking a big first inning as the Lady Indians plated six. Juniata had a total of ten players stepped to the plate in the inning.

She ended the game as well posting a 2-run home run to end the game at 10-0.

With phenom pitcher Liz Gaisior in the circle, Penn Cambria was kept at bay as the Indians advanced into the second round of District Class AAA play in the 11-0 contest.

Gaisior started strong posting six strikeouts going into the the third inning. By the middle of the fourth she had tallied 12, working her way to a one-hitter.

Picking up her team’s only hit was Lily Sheehan.

She struck out a total of 17 in the 6-inning contest.

Lowrey was 2-4 with a triple and a homerun to lead Juniata. Shay Armstrong and Savannah Marshall each had 2 RBI singles as seven different players scored for Juniata.

Juniata with the win improves to 20-3.

Next game for the Lady Indians will be Thursday vs. Central (District 6 AAA Semifinals) 4:00pm start time at Juniata.
