MC 14s battle but fall in contest against Broomall Newtown

BELLEFONTE – It was a battle of the unbeatens in Tuesday’s Babe Ruth Championship that had MIfflin County 14Us team go up against Broomall Newtown.

The finish was not quite the way Mifflin County was hoping for as they fell 10-0 in a six inning contest.

MC was held to just two hits in the contest. Picking up hits for the “Blue and White” were Noah Wolfkiel and Jett Powell.

It would be a single by Broomall’s Carter Patterson that put the home team the first run of the ball game.

Going into the second, Broomall had a 2-0 advantage.

Broomall continued to have the hot bats in the second. Zachary Marro’s 2-run double scoring two runs, and Jordan DiPinto’s single, quickly put their team up 5-0.

In the third, the Broomall Newtown offense added to their early lead .

Brady Doyle notched the win for Broomall allowing two hits and no runs over six innings, striking out six and walking one.

Jude Zook took the loss for Mifflin County.

Broomall Newtown collected 10 hits in the contest. Gavin Tyler and DiPinto both collected two hits in the win.
