MC 15s make historic comeback

Don’t count them out.

Despite trailing 4-1 going into their last at bats, the Mifflin County 15-year olds rallied back with four runs in the seventh to keep their season alive 5-4 defeating East Fishkill from New York.

Brycen Dobson picked up the victory as he came in relief of starter Ethan Eichhorn.

In the bottom of the seventh, Jaxson Pupo got the rally going, taking one for the team as he was hit by a pitch. Cole Schlegel followed with a walk from Fishkill’s Matt Hover.

Teammate Colby Bodtorf loaded the bases when he also walked, setting the stage for the comeback.

With a swing of the bat from Brian Yetter, Schlegel and Bodtorf tied the game on a double.

Fishkill went to the bull pen and put in Charlie Castello.

Yetter advances to third on a sacrifice fly by Eichhorn.

Casey Conner was intentionally walked.

Brycen Hassinger grounded a chopper to First and threw Home to try to get Yetter at home.

However,the ball scooted out as Yetter slid safely at home.

Early on, Fishkill scores first picking up two runs in the second.

Ethan Thompson reached with a walk to start things off. 

A Mifflin County miscue allowed Thompson to move to third and Drew Belcastro to reach First.

Both later scored on a 2-RBI single by Justin Ginese, making it 2-0.

Mifflin County scored its first run when Colby Bodtorf walked and later scored on a double by Yetter.

But Fishkill will add a run in the fifth and sixth to put the New Yorkers up by three going into the final inning.

Mifflin County will now have a rematch with West End in hopes to keep the drive alive.
