Despite a very competitive outing against Cumberland Valley Wednesday night, the Mifflin County baseball team fell to host Cumberland Valley 3-2.

Picking up the win for Cumberland Valley was Haden Fry who notched the complete game victory.

Despite having a very strong outing, Husky hurler Tristen Lockett suffered the loss. Lockett went 5 2/3 innings allowing seven hits, two earned runs and four strike outs.

Offensively, Noah Wright led the Huskies with a 3-for-3 effort from the plate.

Others picking up multiple hits for the Huskies were Tyreen Smalley, Brian Yetter and Brando Souders who all went 2-for-3.

After holding Mifflin County scoreless in the top of the first, the Eagles plated the first run of the ball game.

David Mangold singled and then scored on an RBI double by Tyler Dunn.

Mifflin County bounces back in the top of the second, tying the game at one.

Wright led off with a double and later scored on an RBI single by Smalley.

The Huskies took the lead in the third after Lockett shut down Cumberland Valley in the bottom of the second inning.

Yetter singled and then moved to third on a single by Wright.

Designated hitter Isaac Matthews sacrificed Yetter home, making it 2-1.

But unfortunately for Mifflin County, the Eagles battled back to pick up a run in their part of the third and then one in the fourth and were able to hold on for the victory.
