Mifflin County Huskies’ Late Push Leads To Victory Over Red Land Patriots

Mifflin County defeated Red Land 1-0 on Thursday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at zero in the bottom of the fifth when Ryan Kanagy tripled, scoring one run.
The pitching was strong on both sides. The Huskies pitchers struck out four, while Red Land Varsity Patriots sat down three.
Landen Eichhorn earned the win for the Huskies. The right-handed pitcher allowed five hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking two. Josh Patrick took the loss for Red Land. They went six innings, surrendering one run on four hits, striking out three and walking two.
Kanagy led Mifflin County with one run batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. The Huskies turned one double play in the game. Mifflin County were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Kanagy had the most chances in the field with five.
Chandler Schmoyer went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead the Patriots in hits.

Mifflin County 6, Red Land 0

Mifflin County Varsity defeated Red Land Varsity Patriots 6-0 on Thursday thanks in part to four runs in the seventh inning. an error scored one run, John Paul Pannizzo singled, scoring two runs, and Austin Michelson induced Calin McKnight to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
A single by Tucker Gill put the Huskies on the board in the top of the fourth.
Doug Weaver began the game for Mifflin County . They surrendered zero hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out six and walking none. Michelson started on the bump for the Patriots. The starting pitcher gave up nine hits and six runs (four earned) over seven innings, striking out one and walking two.
Mifflin County tallied nine hits in the game. Tye Plank and Xavier Smith each collected two hits for the Huskies. Pannizzo went 1-for-1 at the plate as they led the team with two runs batted in.
Mifflin County welcomes James Buchanan Varsity Rockets on Monday for their next game.
