Mc boys lose to Altoona

Monday the MIfflin County boys soccer team traveled to Altoona.
The boys fell in a 4-1 Loss
“We didn’t win balls like we have in the past and couldn’t control the middle of the field and it cost us. They won the ball off our and their own feet all night,” said Mifflin county assistant coach Todd Peyers. “Altoona played well all night. We didn’t mark on the back side and they finished a ball to go 1-0 up into the half. After the half they continued to control, which was beyond frustrating, and got two goals in 5 minutes.
Altoona outshot Mifflin County 15-2.
However, the Huskies held the slim advantage in corner opportunities by a 5-4 margin.
“We had a flicker of aggression when we ran through some and then Zach Keller was in on goal and finished with 23 minutes left,” said Peters. “But, we didn’t have enough of our team rallying to get stuck in and win first, second and sometimes third balls and they scored another with under three minutes to ice it. Our squad will have time to think about this, remember the feeling and we hope work to use it and flip it for our next matchup which will be districts.
Mifflin County finished with 11 saves while the Mountain Lions only had one.
In JV action Altoona pulled out a 1-0 victory.
