MC boys takes Central Mountain down to the wire, falls by two

They gave it all they had.

Despite being snake-bit all season, the Mifflin County boys basketball team wanted to go out on a strong note in their finale against Central Mountain Saturday.

Though the game would be the best game they would play all season, it wouldn’t be quite enough as the Huskies fell 51-49 to the Wildcats.

Leading the spirited effort for Mifflin County were Conner Cherry with 22 and Tyler Metz with 15.

In the first quarter, the Huskies started strong as they outscored the Wildcats 9-6.

Central Mountain bounced back in the second, posting an 18-16 advantage.

When the two went into the intermission, Mifflin County led Central Mountain 25-24.

Both teams battled to a stalemate in the second, posted nine points each.

Mifflin County found itself outscored in the fourth after battling to the very end, falling by two.
