MC girls fall to State College in hoop action

In their first meeting of the year, the State College girls basketball team got the most of the young MIfflin County team Friday, 58-27.

State College was led by Maya Bokunewicz who posted a game-high 24 points.

She was followed closely on the scoring list by Jada Coleman’s 18.

Rounding out the double-digit scorers with 10.

MIfflin County got a team-high seven points from Emma Weaver and Kate Knable.

State College opened the first quarter posting a 17-5 lead to get the game going.

Bokunewicz led the scoring with an 8-point effort while MIfflin County had three points from Watson.

MIfflin County was able to post double figures in the second quarter, scoring 10.

Unfortunately, the Little Lions were able to add to their lead as they posted 15.

Going into the intermission, State Held a 32-15 advantage.

Both teams came out of the half and scored nine each as the fourth quarter was about to get underway.

But the Little Lions were too much for the young Huskies on this night as State College outscored MIfflin County 17-3 en route for the victory.
