MC girls junior high XC has strong showing at Ben Bloser Invitationa

Saturday the MIfflin County Junior High girls Cross Country team competed at the Ben Bloser Invitational.

Amilia Coffey led the Huskies with a time of 14:49.697 to land a 57th place.

Finishing in the 100 was Abigail Anderson followed behind with a mark of 15:37.399.

Rounding out the runners were Caroline Palopoli (18:01.937), Kahlen McCracken (18:13.065) and Irelynn Milligan (21:44.681).

The Ben Bloser Invitational was a great opportunity for our girls to race in a big race with some really fast competition. It was also a bit longer than what the Huskies have been running, 3200 meters. Mia Coffey led the team placing 56th out of 264. She did a great job pacing herself over the two miles.
“All the girls improved dramatically at staying strong through the second mile. Abby Anderson was not far behind Mia and continues to make improvement. She is a fierce competitor! Our Junior High Girls team is small but we are growing and helping to build a stronger future of running for Mifflin County,” said MIfflin County Cross Country Coach Neil Breneman. “I am proud of their hard work and determination that they continue to put in each day of practice.”
