MC girls late run falls a point short; falls to Crusaders by one

LEWISTOWN – Monday, the MIfflin County girls basketball team battled down to the wire but came up just short as they fell to Bishop McDevitt 51-50 in Mid-Penn action.
Marissa Gingrich and Briana Bodtorf finished with 13 points in the nail biter.
Rounding out the double-digit scoring for the Lady Huskies was Hannah Rittenhouse with 10.
Bishop McDevitt got a game-high 20 points from Taja Colbert.
In the first, McDevitt outscored MIfflin County 12-9 in the period.
Offensively, the Crusaders did just enough in the second to take the quarter 12-11.

Going into the intermission, the Crusaders led 24-20.
Both teams came out and continued to play strong offense in the third but the Huskies were able close in a little, trailing only 39-37.
Despite outscoring the visitors 13-11 it wasn’t quite enough to complete the comeback, falling by a single digit.
