MC girls soccer finds “Gold” in win over James Buchanan
LEWISTOWN – MIfflin County had little rust on them coming into their first game of the 2024 season. In their Gold Out game against James Buchanan Tuesday, the Lady Huskies dropped the Rockets 9-0 at home.
Makenna Spickler finished with the well deserved Hat trick while teammate Abby Anderson had two.
It didn’t take long for the “Purple and Black Attack” to put one past the goalie.
Anderson gave her team their first goal at 2:38.
Just minutes later Spickler hit her first goal off an assist by Abby Anderson at 4:26.
Before anyone could blink Spickler had goal number two at 5:01.
Desi Hershberger hit the last goal of the period at 8:12, making it a 4-0 advantage.
Spickler opened up the second half, notching a hat trick at 28:27.
Teammate Annie Hartzler continued the offensive domination for the Lady Huskies scoring at 34:13.
Leah Alexander helped extend their lead to 7-0 on a shot with 44:58.
Mackenzie Peachey added to the scoreboard at 55:04.
Anderson rounded out the scoring at 68:10.
Mifflin County out shot the Rockets 14-5 and 6-1 in corner opportunities.
Liberty Cook finished her night a Huskies goalie with five as did her adversary fellow goalkeeper Madilyn Sloss.
