MC girls XC team splits with CD, CD East

The Mifflin County Cross Country Lady Huskies raced against the host team, Central Dauphin, and Central Dauphin East on Tuesday afternoon. They defeated CD East 15-50 but were defeated by CD, 23-38.

The team is still recovering from racing the hills at the Foundations Invitational on Saturday. They also competed today without several members of the team which impacted the depth they needed on the field to defeat CD. “Overall, for where we are in our season, they put a good effort in and can be proud of all the racing they did over the past several weeks,” said Mifflin County coach Neil Breneman

Amilia Coffey and Ava Kratzer had great kicks crossing the finish line today in second and third place. They continue to be strong leaders on the team in both racing and as the team captains. Caroline Palopoli and Eden Smith finished in the three and four positions for the team while Reagan Sheetz and Maya Morgan crossed together for five and six.

Today’s race concluded the most race intensive part of their season. They will now turn their eyes toward the biggest races in October. Next up will be the Gettysburg Invitational on October 4.
