MC track team competes tough but falls to Chambersburg

It was a tough day for both the boys and girls track teams dropping decisions to Chambersburg 105-45 girls, and 102-48 boys.  “We had some really good performances today from both teams, but we struggled to take very many first place finishes today,” said Coach Scot Sechler. “We did an admirable job back pointing and fighting, but in the end, first places matter.”  

On the girls sideLyza Underhill won the 100 meters (13.2), Kylee Cubbison won the 1600(5:18.2) and the 800(2:26.1).  Addie Parson took the 3200(12:09.9) and the 4×4 relay of Cubbison, Underhill, Warful, and Yoder won in an impressive 4:20.2.  On the boys side, the lone first place on the track was the 4×1 team of Schaeffer, Kauffman, Wilson, and Wert taking the race in 46.4.  In the field, Wert put in another impressive triple jump winning with a leap of 42’10.5”.  Last but not least , Josiah Sechler launched another huge throw winning the javelin with a mark of 181’5”.
